Henderson County Livestock Show:  March 23-28, 2020

  • Major Steer Validation – June 27, 2019 6-9 a.m. at McGee Cattle Pens (4272 CR 4706, Athens)
  • State Fair Swine Validation – Swine Validation Tag Order Form State Fair 2019– Orders Due by April 26th.
  • HCLS Validation – TBA for steers, market lambs, market goats, commercial heifers, yearlings, major lambs, and major goats
  • Fall Major Heifer Validation – Contact the Extension office to get your heifer validated. Will be done in June 2019.
  • Spring Major Heifer Validation – Validation will be held October 2019
  • HCLS Broiler Orders due to Extension office by TBA
  • Major swine validation¬† – TBA
  • HCLS market swine validation – TBA
  • HCLS breeding, horse show, scholarships, calf scramble, shop project, and youth project show entries due – TBA
  • HCLS market fryer validation – TBA, Rifle Building at Henderson County Fairgrounds

East Texas State Fair – entries due to Extension office August 20th

    What size jars are allowed for the canning section at the fair. I have a 4Her that is learning the art of preservation and wants to enter a couple of items at the fair.

      They can be in pint or quart jars. The only stipulation is that they be sealed and in actual canning jars (Kerr, Ball, etc).
